Ernst Billgren, born in Stockholm. is considered to be one of Sweden’s most important living artists. He studied at Valand Academy in Gothenburg. Billgren works with painting, sculpture, glass and other media and his artistry is often inspired by nature. He has had many exhibitions nationally and internationally and is member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm.
Together with Kosta in Småland, Ernst Billgren has created a unique glass collection called “New Friends” which brings the animals into the room. It is not only glass, the collection is also a sculpture which you can drink or pour from.
